A 30-year-old Oktibbeha County man has been sentenced to life in prison for a 2005 shooting death.
Jimmy Collier entered the plea Monday to a charge of murder in the April 25, 2005 slaying of Cora Selvie.
Assistant District Attorney Frank Clark said a drug charge and a possession of firearms charge were dropped in exchange for the plea.
Authorities said Selvieās bullet-riddled body was found on a county road about 300 yards south of the Clay County line.
Three other people were charged as accessories after the fact. Their trials are pending.
