Authorities have charged 34-year-old Bobby Hendrix with capital murder in the killing of former Stone County Supervisor Duncan Hatten.

Chief Deputy Jimmy Green said Hendrix, Hatten’s neighbor, was arrested Thursday. Hendrix was being held in the Stone County jail awaiting an initial court appearance.

Hatten’s son, Wiggins Fire Chief Jody Hatten, found his father’s body in the victim’s garage. The senior Hatten died of a gunshot wound to his chest.
