State Dept. of health to hold West Nile meeting
Residents interested in learning about the causes of West Nile Virus and how to prevent it can attend a meeting in Picayune on Thursday.
Sharon Sims with the State Department of Health will be at Picayune’s city hall at 6 p.m. in the council chambers to give a presentation.
Citizens can learn what they can do to help fight the spread of the dangerous virus, said Picayune’s director of mosquito control Daryl Smith. Any questions and concerns also can be addressed during presentation.
Smith said the presentation should last about 45 minutes. Questions about the event can be directed to Peggy at 601-799-0602.
