Mississippi gets federal money to help shrimpers

Mississippi is getting $25 million over the next five years to help in the recovery of marine resources.

Part of that federal money is being set aside to help shrimpers.

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources said Friday that to be eligible for money, a shrimper needed to have a resident commercial license for the 2004-2005 or the 2005-2006 season.
