Picayune armory to be dedicated to fallen soldier

The Mississippi Army National Guard’s Readiness Center in Picayune will be dedicated this weekend to Staff Sgt. Larry Arnold, who died in Iraq in 2005.

Maj. Gen. Harold A. Cross, the state adjutant general, will host the ceremony on Saturday.

Arnold was a 46-year-old Carriere resident when he died in a roadside bomb attack on June 11, 2005. Also killed in the attack was 25-year-old Sgt. Terrance D. Lee of Moss Point.

They were members of Mississippi Army National Guard’s Company B, 150th Combat Engineer Battalion.

The ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m.
