Mississippi voters were cautioned Friday that groups were going door-to-door soliciting people to vote using mail-in forms and claiming support from the secretary of state’s office.
The office said that while voter participation is encouraged, it has not endorsed such organizations. Officials did not identify the group, or groups, involved.
Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann said people should visit their circuit clerk’s office to register to vote.
