Poplarville and Pearl River Central’s boys went to overtime for the second time this season on Friday.
And the results were the same as the first game.
PRC rallied from a one point deficit to tie the game at the end of regulation and send it into overtime, and then the Blue Devils pulled out a 58-50 win in overtime Friday at Poplarville.
Josh Nixon made a pair of key steals late in regulation and then his a free throw to tie the game.
Nixon led PRC with 21 points, while Cody Ladner added 17 and Ricky Chisum seven for the Blue Devils.
Lavelle Henry paced Poplarville with 14 points and Pierre Raine added seven points.
PR stands 5-21 overall and 3-9 in league play heading into the Region 8-4A Tournament on Monday, while the Hornets fall to 3-21 overall and finish 1-11 in league play.
The girls game produced some familiar results as well.
For the third time this season, Poplarville knocked off PRC winning on Friday 64-48.
The teams will meet again on Tuesday in the league tourney.
In the latest Lady Hornet win, Demi Beason had 20 points to lead Poplarville while Policia Travis added 18 and Jeronda Beason 11 to the winning cause.
The Lady Hornets are 9-12 overall and finish league play at 4-6.
Kayla Drummond scored 20 to pace PRC while Brooke Eccles added 18 for the Lady Devils who stand 6-18 overall and 2-8 in league play.
Picayune, OS Split
OCEAN SPRINGS — Picayune split a pair of games on the road with homestanding Ocean Springs on Friday to wrap up regular season play.
The Maroon Tide won their 26th game of the season, beating the Greyhounds 65-51.
The game was tied at 17-17 after the opening period, but the Maroon Tide began to take control in the second quarter thanks to the play of Chris Dees and Brandon Fortenberry and were in command by the middle of the third period.
Dees had a double-double to pace Picayune with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Fortenberry added 18 points to the winning cause.
Picayune is 26-4 entering the league tournament. The Maroon Tide plays Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Ocean Springs falls to 12-15 with the loss.
The Lady Tide weren’t as fortunate, dropping their seventh straight game with a 67-61 loss to the Lady Greyhounds.
Ebony Jones scored 14 to pace Picayune, while Monique Brown added 13 points and Karly Moran and Andrea Jackson 12 apiece to the Lady Tide cause. Autumn jackson also had a game high 12 rebounds for Picayune.
Breanna Edwards led OSHS with 21 points.

POPLARVILLE — Pearl River Community College begins a three game homestand against South Division foes by hosting Hinds Monday. PRCC was swept by Southwest Thursday.
