A Gulfport man has been sentenced to life in prison on two counts of capital murder in the 2006 slayings of two people.

Mark Alan Henegan pleaded guilty Friday in Harrison County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to two consecutive life terms.

Henegan told the court that he had been on a two-week crack cocaine binge when he beat 61-year-old Delphia Fitts and 77-year-old Anthony Caranna Sr. to death.

Prosecutors said Henegan killed the two, stole their cars and traded the vehicles for cash to buy crack.

Their bodies were found five days apart in their Gulfport homes.
