A total lunar eclipse occurred Wednesday just after 9 p.m. as the moon passed into the earth’s shadow, giving it a red hue. Only peeks of the event could be obtained through Mississippi’s overcast sky. Another lunar eclipse is not expected to take place until Dec. 20, 2010.
