A two-vehicle accident on Highway 43 North, just north of Wheat’s Curve, resulted in one fatality early Thursday morning.

According to the accident report from the Mississippi Highway Patrol, 31 year-old Daniel Ferguson was traveling in the northbound lane of Highway 43 at a speed the report called “too fast for conditions.”

Ferguson came around the curve and lost control of the car, according to the report, and skidded into the southbound lane, where his car was struck on the passenger side by a 1998 GMC van driven by 53 year-old Victoria Burton of Carriere.
