A man lying in the road on Interstate 59 was hit by three cars.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop K Public Information Officer Sgt. Joe Gazzo said the incident took place at about 12:12 a.m. Sunday at about the 35 mile marker.
Apparently Oscar Pollion, 31, of 199 Woodard Rd., Poplarville, was riding home with some people from a party when he became combative. Pollion was let out of the car on the interstate in the south bound lane due to his combative behavior, Gazzo said.
For an unknown reason Pollion was lying in the road and was consequently hit by a car. Witnesses said the car did not stop.
“And then two more cars hit the body, they also kept going,” Gazzo said.
The next day people from the party looking for Pollion gave his identification to the Highway Patrol, providing the department with a positive identification and information why he was on the interstate, Gazzo said.
Pollion was pronounced dead due to injuries suffered in the incident, Gazzo said.
