Lincoln County Circuit court officials are discussing how to enforce jury summonses after only 66 of 400 people showed up for possible jury duty.
Circuit Clerk Terry Lynn Watkins said the summonses were sent out to seat a jury in a murder trial. A jury was not seated.
Circuit Judge Mike Taylor, who was set to preside over the case, said there are options on how to handle bringing potential jurors in, including sending deputies out to personally serve a summons.
The fine for failure to appear is $500, three days imprisonment or both.
