Picayune remained unbeaten on the young prep basketball season with an exciting 61-60 win over previously St. Stanislaus in the Region 8-4A opener for both teams Friday.

Reshun Smith and Chrs Dees paced Picayune with 16 points apiece, and Smith had a big three point play as well as a pair of key free throws late in the game to seal the win.

Picayune is 8-0 and hosts D’Iberville on Tuesday.
