The Pearl River Community College Development Foundation held the annual Scholarship Donor Recognition Dinner recently at the Olivia Bender Cafeteria on the Poplarville campus.

The foundation handled a record number of scholarships this fall – 283 totaling over $180,000 in tuition and financial help for students.

“We are continuing to grow in all aspects of financial support for our college foundation,” said Ernie Lovell, executive director of the Development Foundation. “We are seeing an increase in donors who are interested in fully endowing scholarships for our students. This ensures the continuance of the scholarship support for years to come. Many of our donors are also trying to help with financial needs above and beyond the cost of tuition, including dormitory fees and the purchase of text books.
