Picayune standout pitcher T. J. House is expected to sign a college baseball scholarship today with Tulane University.

House is a senior for the Maroon Tide and one of the top prep pitchers in the state. He recently competed for the USA junior team in an international tournament in Mexico. He also set a Picayune record as a junior by striking out 20 batters in a win over Poplarville.

House will be the second Pearl River County baseball standout in the past year to sign a baseball scholarship with the Green Wave after Pearl River Central’s Mike Lehmann inked with Tulane last season before deciding to turn pro.

House had originally committed to Ole Miss.

After playing the last two seasons without a home field to call its own, the Tulane University baseball team will play 36 of its 56 regular-season ballgames at a brand new on-campus stadium in 2008, Green Wave head coach Rick Jones announced recently.
