I am Pauline Wells Tidwell. I am announcing my candidacy for Tax Assessor/Collector for Pearl River County.

I am a lifelong resident of Pearl River County. I have 12 and one half years of real experience as a deputy tax collector. I have worked in bookkeeping/accounting jobs since 1963. I contend that the tax paying public should be treated with the respect they deserve when tending to business in the county offices.

I believe that if fairness is executed when personnel decisions are made that it will reflect in the service to the public. I believe the Tax Assessor/Collector’s Office is to be used for official tax business and no other.

My top three priorities are God, my family and service to our community. I plead with each voter to put forth extra effort to get to his or her respective polling place on Nov. 6. Only 33.53 percent of registered voters made it to the polls on Aug. 28.

I regret that I cannot visit each of you personally, but I’m now asking for your vote. I thank you for all your support.
