Hundreds of volunteers from Keesler Air Force Base will be repairing hurricane damaged elementary schools and removing debris Saturday in Hancock County.
The 500 airmen will work at Jeff Davis and Our Lady of Fatima schools. They’ll also clean up dozens of other locations as part of the base’s “Make A Difference Day.”
It’s been more than two years since Hurricane Katrina devastated the area, but there’s still plenty of work to do.
Keesler officials say personnel have provided more than 72,000 community service hours since the storm.
