G.R.A. Community Health Organization presents Every Cloud has a Silver Lining: Improving Social and Health Disparities Diamond and Ice Community Gala
GRA Community Health Organization is a non-profit organizatin dedicated to improving scial and health disparities in the community. Our focus is on the empowerment of individuals and communities to make effective decisions regarding education, health, economic growth and stability.
Therefore, GRA Communtiy Health Organization is proud to announce their 2008 community project. The main goal of the 2008-09 year is to build a community center that focuses on interactive programs related to the six areas of wellness: Physical, Spiritual, Social, Intellectual, Mental and Emotional health. The health education programs are designed to focus on health issues related to heart disease, asthma, diabeters and many other health issues affexcting our comunity. We want to encompass the entire family in the process of improving health through understanding their famiy history. Education classes will be fun and informative such as “Cooking Healthy Without Changing Culture and Tradition”. We realize how difficult it is to change our southern heritage.
The community center will house several different programs that will include an athletics, health, social interventio, food and nutrition program along with economic development. The economic development program will have a compnent to allow youths; particularly those that are disadvantaged with the opportunity to explore the ideas of entrepreneurship. GRA Community Health Organization will serve as an incubator by providing resources and creating an environment where youths can be mentored. In addition, we will house GlaxoSmithKline, Bridges to Access program. This program will allow qualified residnts to enroll in the Bridges Tto Access program to receive prescription vouchers for free medication.
