ForeFront Group Inc., which supplies golf bags and accessory products, will build a 200,000-square-foot facility on about 40 acres in Baldwyn.

The $12 million distribution center will employ about 50 workers.

The Baldwyn center, which is expected to open next summer, will replace the company’s Tennessee facility.

“This will be the cornerstone for the future of ForeFront,” said Stan Harris, ForeFront’s CEO.

The distribution center will feature state-of-the-art distribution and freight handling equipment and will use the latest in inventory management software, officials said. It will also have a product customization operation that includes embroidery and logo application services.

Already, ForeFront is the top supplier of collegiate golf bags and recently inked a licensing agreement with the NFL, Harris said.

Harris said ForeFront and Houston, Texas-based Stanford Financial Group, the majority owner of Forefront, selected Baldwyn for its “very, very good work force development.” He also said community and leaders worked well together in presenting itself as the best location.

“There are a lot of places that talk about what they can do, but Baldwyn showed us what they can do,” he said.

Most of the center’s workers will be hired locally, although a handful will come from the Tennessee facility, Harris said.
