A burning vehicle that was found under a bridge was later suspected to have been stolen.

The burning vehicle was found under a bridge on McNeill Steephollow Road about a half mile west of Bradley Road, said Major Aaron Russell with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department. McNeill and Steephollow Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene at about 3:36 a.m.

After the fire was extinguished deputies recovered the tag from the car and contacted the owner. Deputies asked the owner if they knew the location of their vehicle, to which the owner stated it was in their driveway. When the deputy informed the owner that the vehicle was not in the driveway the deputy asked the owner when the last time the vehicle was seen. The owner told deputies that the vehicle was last seen in the driveway at about 10:30 the previous night.
