The Picayune NJROTC cadets along with the American Legion and VFW sponsored a flag pole and flag to honor the veterans that were burried at Turtle Skin Cemetery.
On August 19, 2007 Picayune NJRTOC cadets gathered at the turtle skin cemetary right outside the gate of Stennis. The cadets started early in the morning by digging the hole where the flag pole would be placed. Then they poured the concrete that they had mixed themselves, and set the pole. After the pole was set and ready the cadets proudly raised the American flag over the graves of the veterans burried at Turtle Skin cemetary.
