Deputies with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday responded to a call of a vehicle parked on the side of the road, where they found the driver dead.
The call came into the department at about 7:07 that morning and deputies found a vehicle parked on the side of Sones Chapel Road, said Major Aaron Russell.
Deputies found the vehicle parked with the windows up and the doors locked. When the driver, identified as Vincent A. Bisesi Jr., 34, of 2765 Erin Dr., Morerro, La., would not respond deputies broke a window to gain entry to the vehicle, Russell said.
The investigation determined that Bisesi was last seen at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday when he left his family’s house, where he was playing cards.
In the vehicle deputies found a gun beside Bisesi on the seat, blood in the vehicle and one spent bullet casing, Russell said. When deputies found Bisesi he had no pulse so an ambulance and the coroner’s office were called out. Bisesi was declared dead on the scene, Russell said.
A hole was discovered in Bisesi’s left thigh, which is believed to be a bullet hole. It is suspected Bisesi suffered an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to a major artery in his leg.
“We think it’s completely accidental discharge,” Russell said.
Investigators believe Bisesi tried to call for help with his cell phone, but that area has no cell phone coverage, Russell said.
