Lessie C. Mitchell Davis

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Unity Baptist Church, Picayune for Lessie C. Mitchell Davis, 87, in Picayune who passed away Friday, August 17, 2007 in Carriere.

Burial will be in the New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home, Picayune.

The Rev. Tim Mimms will officiate at the services, and will be assisted by The Rev. Kent Megehee.

A native of Pearl River County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Edwin Davis; her parents, Peter R. and Nancy Spiers Mitchell; five brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include: one daughter, Bettye (David) Lossett, of Carriere; one son, Jimmy (Jo) Davis, of Picayune; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Sones, of Sones Chapel Community.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2007 for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home.
