I, Lonnie Spiers, announce my candidacy for Supervisor of District 3, Pearl River County, Mississippi.
I am the son of Charles Spiers Jr. and Gearldine Smith Spiers of the Anner Community. I have been married to the former Donna Necaise for 22 years and we have three children, Amanda, Courtney, and Danielle. Amanda and Courtney presently attend Pearl River Community College and Danielle attends Poplarville Public School. My family and I are active members at Union Baptist Church in the Caesar Community.
Work Experience: 1984-1993 I worked for Brown and Root as an electrician and electrical supervisor. Since 1993 I have been employed by DuPont. I started in maintenance and through hard work and determination have worked my way to production supervisor. My experience in the work place includes supervision in construction, maintenance coordinating, and planning. I have served on numerous projects and committees while at DuPont. I have all types of training including, enviromental, safety and supervisor. I have a lot of team work experience. I have the ability to work out resolutions with others while standing up for what I believe in.
Beliefs: I am a deacon of Union Baptist Church. I believe in freedom to worship the way we choose as long as it doesn’t compromise the morals that has made Pearl River County such a great place to live. I am a pro-life activist. I believe in the sanctity of marriage. I support the freedom to own guns. I believe that a supervisor should listen to our citizens on major issues affecting our lifestyles, such as adoption of new building codes, management of our county’s water associations and location of landfills.
Community Vision: I support all of our schools and the needs of all of our children. Our children deserve the best education in state of the art facilities. I will support the Sheriff’s Department in keeping our county safe. I will not support out-of-state garbage coming into our county. I am a conservative and will be conservative with our tax payer’s money. I know the value of a dollar and when elected, I will work hard for the people of Pearl River County.
I am a team player and when elected you can count on me to work with the other supervisors in making the best decisions while representing the needs of our citizens. On Aug. 7, go to the polls and vote and please consider me for your District 3 Supervisor, Pearl River County, MS.
