Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Home for Robert Lee Stewart, 56, of Picayune, Miss.
Robert Stewart was born January 17, 1951 to the late the Rev. Dudley and Ollie Bell Stewart in Hazlehurst, Miss. At an early age Robert moved with his family to Picayune. He then joined St. Matthews Baptist church under the leadership of Rev. Jessie James. He attended both elementary and high school at George Washington Carver. Upon graduating from high school Robert pursued his dream to attend college at Alcorn where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
In 1976 he united in marriage to Rose Mary McLaurin. To this union two children were born, Lashail and Tirrell. On March 14, 2004 Robert was united in marriage to Elizabeth Antoine.
Robert was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Stewart, and two sisters, Mavis Biggs and Dorothy Stewart Robertson. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Elizabeth Stewart of Picayune; one daughter, Lashail Stewart and one son, Tirrell Stewart both of Gulfport, Miss.; one grandson, Kema Stewart; three brothers, the Rev. Howard Stewart, Ike (Cheryl) Stewart, Coleman (Felecia) Davis of Picayune; three sisters, Florence Stewart, Amy (Lorse) Durr of Hazlehurst, Mable (Arthur Lee) Gilmore and Lou Ida (the Rev. John L.) Gass of Picayune; one stepdaughter, Laqueta McLaurin of Gulfport; four stepsons, Louis Graham, Marcus Graham, Alonzo Graham and Jonathan Billups all of Picayune, best Friends, Stanley Lee (brother in Christ), Ronald Antoine (brother-in-law) and Curtis Charles Bridges of Picayune, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Brown’s Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
