A California company rebuilding the U.S. Highway 90 bridge over the Bay of St. Louis has won a $7.1 million contract to install lighting on the span.

The U.S. 90 bridge is a two-mile span being built to replace one that was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. Two lanes were opened in May. The $267 million bridge, which connects Bay St. Louis with Pass Christian to the east, is scheduled to be completed in November.

Granite Archer Western, AJV, of Watsonville, Calif., which was awarded the bridge construction contract in January 2006, was awarded the lighting contract on Wednesday by the Mississippi Transportation Commission.
