A two-vehicle crash put one motorcycle rider in the hospital.

The accident occurred on Saturday on Matthews Road near Picayune, according to a press release from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department.

The two vehicles involved it the accident were a Honda CBR motorcycle and a Dodge Durango. The driver of the motorcycle, identified as Casey Slaydon, 21, of 41 Mississippi Pines Blvd., was injured and taken to Forrest General by Rescue 7. Capt. Chris Lott said Slaydon was badly injured.

The driver of the Durango, identified as Penny Haynes of 27 Matthews Rd., Carriere, had no apparent injuries, according to the press release.
