Plans to seek the incorporation of the City of Carriere have been abandoned due to the lack of sufficient resident participation.

In a press release from the Committee to Incorporate Carriere, Miss., the committee stated that it believes the members have presented the reasons for incorporation and have provided adequate time to support the cause, if residents so chose.

“The conclusion must be made that most residents are satisfied with the county government and the supervisors governing our area and are not concerned about annexation in the immediate future,” the release states.
