Picayune’s bowling alley was robbed over the weekend by an unidentified suspect, according to a police report.

Officers responded to Pine Tree Lanes on Memorial Boulevard at about 1:32 a.m. Sunday concerning a strong arm robbery. According to police reports, the bowling alley closed at midnight and two employees were cleaning up the place until about 1 a.m. when one of the employees told the other employee he could leave.

After the other employee left, the remaining employee set about counting the day’s money in the office. About 15 minutes later, as the employee was counting the money, he heard the front door open. Thinking it was the other employee returning, he did not get up to see who it was, the report states.

The employee then heard a knock at the office door and apparently a black man described to be about six feet, three inches tall, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, entered the office demanding money or he would use a weapon. The report states the employee did not see a weapon but gave the man the money anyway.

The suspect then ran out of the business, the report states.

Investigators are still looking into the incident and if anyone has any information about the robbery they can call 601-798-7411.
