Pedestrian killed in car accident

A two vehicle accident on Miss. 43 S., four miles west of 603 in Kiln, killed a pedestrian walking along the roadway.

According to a report from the Mississippi Highway Patrol the accident occurred May 24, at about 10:26 p.m. At that time a 16 year-old boy, identified as Jacob Moore, no address given, was walking on Miss. 43 S.

The report states that the first vehicle, driven by Ray Adler, 43, no address listed, swerved to avoid hitting the boy in the roadway. Moore was still in the path of the vehicle and was struck by the vehicle before the vehicle struck another vehicle driven by Scott LaBorde, no age or address listed.

Moore was taken to Gulfport for life threatening injuries and died the next day, the report states. Adler and his female passenger were listed with moderate injuries and taken to Hancock for medical treatment. LaBorde and his 32 year-old female passenger were taken to Slidell, La., for medical treatment. Also with LaBorde was a five year-old and a two year-old, both listed with slight injuries who were not transported.
