The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department is looking for Bryan H. Mitchell, 41, of Picayune, on a charge of rape.

The alleged rape, involving a minor, took place in northern Hancock County, according to a release from Hancock County Sheriff Steve Garber.

The alleged rape occurred in the early morning hours of May 12, according to the release.

Mitchell, 41, is described as being six feet tall and weighing 185 pounds and is believed to be driving a gold colored 2000 Buick Century with damage to the front passenger side of the car, the release states.

The victim’s age is being withheld due to her age, the release states.

Investigator John Bunce said he did not want to comment whether the victim had previous contact with Mitchell since the incident is still under investigation.
