McNeill power outage

About 2,000 residents hooked to the McNeill substation with Coast Electric were without power for a few hours last night.

The outage occurred between 8 and 9, said April Lollar with Coast Electric public relations.

Another outage occurred in the same area at about 12:15 a.m. but did not last as long.

“Most of those people were back on in about 15 minutes,” Lollar said.

Coast Electric crews were out in the area this morning checking the equipment and making sure another outage does not occur.

Lollar said apparently there had been an equipment failure at the substation.
