McNeill announces candidacy

My name is Dan C. McNeill, and I am a lifetime resident of Pearl River County. My wife and I live in the center of our county at McNeill.
I have over 20 years in law enforcement and have certifications in Mississippi and Louisiana academies. My current position, as security manager, requires a top secret clearance at our facility, and the constant upgrading of training.
Our county has seen many changes and new faces. This demands the dedication of all law enforcement, to unite. I am honored by the number of you that have requested my views and assistance.
I will seek the position of sheriff in the upcoming elections. My platform will be to improve our quality of life, both young and elderly. To bring back our programs that have been denied for several years. We had several grants in place for our youth and elderly, however, these are not being utilized. Many kids and elderly citizens bring up this subject.
Your sheriff must seek any and all grants and funding to provide education on the abuse of narcotics and stress the abuse of our elderly. Many times elderly abuse will not be reported. Our elderly citizens seem to be the easy score for scams and other in and out organizations. This again can be improved with all of us working together. We need to provide our residents the education and information obtained from prior victims and any means we may have to prevent anyone from loosing their hard earned funds.
Our county will continue to grow. Growth also seems to bring the criminal element and those that want to get by without working or standing up to the problems we all face. Our county has approximately 33 to 35 percent that exercise their God given right to vote. To me this cannot continue. You want changes — cast your vote. You want improvement — cast your vote. You want your quality of life to improve and the other in your family? You got it, cast your vote.
Between now and August, you will see many flashy signs and hear many candidates’ views. Please vote for the person, not the amount of money displayed on election items. I hope Republicans, Democrats and other parties will unite and elect the correct candidates for the correct positions.
I thank you all for your concern and request your vote and support. I hope to see many of you soon and hear your comments.
Thank you, Dan C. McNeill, candidate for sheriff
