Long Beach sweeps Poplarville

Poplarville entered the weekend tied atop the Division 8-4A prep baseball standings with Long Beach, both a perfect 2-0.

Unfortunatley for the Hornets, there was no deadlock 24 hours later.

Long Beach ace pitcher Craig McKay shut down the Hornets in Harrison County Friday night in a 9-3 Bearcats win, and a move to Pearl River County Saturday afternoon didn’t help change Poplarville’s luck as LBHS completed the two game sweep with a 9-4 win.
