Picayune junior Chris Dees has been selected to play in the annual Mississippi North-South All-star Basketball game this summer in Clinton.

The game each year pits the best rising seniors from across the state against one another.

The 6-foot-4 Dees helped lead Picayune to the Class 4A overall state semifinals and paced the maroon Tide in both scoring and rebounding this season.

The game is set for Saturday, July 14th, on the campus of Mississippi College in A.E. Wood Coliseum.

Slaydon out of game

Picayune’s Levi Slaydon has pulled out of the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Classic set for June in Mobile.

Slaydon decision to withdraw from the game was confirmed by Picayune head coach Dodd lee this week.

Slaydon, a Pearl River Community College signee, apparently has a conflict with a Senior Trip during that time, and chose not to play. He did not attend a mandatory mini-camp for the Mississippi All-Stars recently.

Picayune’s James Brady, who was also selected for the prestigious game, will play for the Mississippi all-stars. Brady, a USM signee, did participate in the recent mini-camp.
