Crime Stoppers needs help to solve cold case

A long standing unsolved crime needs the assistance of residents with untapped knowledge to close a cold case.

According to a press release from the Pearl River County Crime Stoppers, the murder of a 91 year-old woman is still unsolved after many years.

Leola Jordan, 91, 1204 Washington St., was found stabbed to death at her residence on June 30, 1998. She was last seen alive at about 10 p.m. on June 29, 1998.

The release states that the residence was entered through the front door and exited the same way, with no signs of forced entry. An investigation inside the residence revealed only that handbags were taken from the closet and rummaged through.

Jordan was known to keep large amounts of money at her residence and a small, undisclosed amount was found to be missing from the residence, the release states.

Currently there are two suspects that Crime Stoppers believe are responsible. If any residents believe they have further information they can call 601-799-CLUE (2583).
