PRC sweeps PJP; Devils host SSC

Pearl River Central swept past homestanding Pope John Paul Tuesday night in a pair of prep basketball games.

The Blue Devils picked up an exciting 70-68 win in overtime, to move to 13-9 on the year. Reggie Fowler scored a game high 19 points for PRC, while both Brandon Truman and Bradley Baker added 15 points apiece for the winners.

Meanwhile, the PRC girls pulled out a 49-39 win over the Lady Jaguars.

Brooke Eccles led the way for the Lady Devils as usual, by bagging 20 points and hauling down 12 rebounds. Kayla Drummond also excelled in the win, scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Hannah Discon had eight points and dished out six assists, while Shanekwa Fowler picked off five steals and grabbed 12 rebounds as well for the winning team.

The PRC girls are 9-12 on the year, and are off until Tuesday when they play Pass Christian.

The Blue Devils are back in action tonight, hosting St.Stanislaus in a Division 8-4A game at 7 p.m.
