A teenager has been charged with manslaughter in the shooting death Wednesday of a 17-year-old Gulfport High School basketball standout, according to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff George H. Payne Jr. said Jonathan Barfield, 18, has been charged in Tiffany Talley’s death. Payne said the shooting occurred at Barfield’s FEMA trailer in Gulfport.

Payne said Barfield called 911 around 12:31 p.m. and reportedly said he had shot Talley. Payne said deputies found Talley dead from a gunshot wound to her head.
