Man killed in accidednt on Miss. 43

A Picayune man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon when his vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler at Mississippi 43 and Road 258, according to Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Joe Gazzo.
According the the accident report, a Mitsubishi Montero driven by Roy Vaughn Jr. , 43, of Picayune was traveling north on Miss. 43 when the vehicle struck a Peterbuilt 18-wheeler traveling south at 3:58 p.m. Monday. Vaughn’s vehicle flipped off the road before coming to rest on the east side of the road, the report said.
Vaughn was pronounced dead and taken to Edmond Fahey Funeral Home, the report said.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, Martin Alton Turnage of Moss Point, also complained of pain, the report said.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department originally responded to the call and the Highway Patrol is conducting the rest of the investigation, sheriff’s officials said Monday.
Deputies Charles Lafontaine and Kent Malley responded for the county and Trooper Paul Fernandez responded for the Highway Patrol.
