Forrest General Hospital implemented the Spirit of Women program in 2004 and is the exclusive Spirit of Women hospital for South Mississippi. As an extension of Forrest General Hospital, Highland Community Hospital employees and residents in the Picayune area will also have access to this national program.

“The program is a national movement that promotes women to take action for better health for themselves and their families …mind, body and spirit,” said Demetria Brown, Spirit of Women Liaison for Highland. “Highland Community Hospital is proud to present our first program for women in the Picayune area. ‘Catch the Spirit’.

Catch the Spirit is Highland’s inaugural event designed to help women relieve holiday stressors coupled with a free holiday decorating seminar sponsored by floral designers Mary Wheat and Rex Thompson of Picayune Florist.

In addition, women interested in a free membership with the Spirit of Women may sign-up at the event. The event will take place at Paul’s Pastry Shop, Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006 at 12 p.m.
