Pine Needle Quilter’s Association quilt show

ustin Patton of Perkinston, Miss., won the Pine Needle Quilter’s Association Donation quilt, “Navigating the Stars”, given away Sunday, Nov. 12, the last day of their recent Quilt Show.

The show was attended by over 200 quilters and friends. Viewers chose winners for the Viewer Choice, First Place, Second Place and Third Place ribbons.

Leslie Ross, Perkinston, won the Viewers Choice for his quilt, Starspin. Leslie has only been quilting for a couple of years. His wife, Elizabeth, helped him pick the fabrics for this quilt. Lolly Coulter hand quilted the quilt for him.

First place winner was Dixie Hart, Biloxi, for her Almost Baltimore. This pattern was from a block of the month by Keepsake Quilting.

Second Place winner was Elaine Welch, Moselle, Miss., for her Love From Peers quilt. The quilt uses the techniques of quilting, candle wicking and embroidery. Elaine’s school teacher peers gave her the pattern, fabric and thread at her retirement party.

Third Place winners were Helen Bond, Perkinston, and Ruth Cowart, Wiggins. Helen’s quilt was the Wolf Family she made for her grandson. Ruth’s quilt was Rose Log Cabin with fabrics purchased from Peacemakers in Pass Christian.
