Peters powers Poplarville past Petal

Brandon Peters scored five touchdowns as Poplarville smashed visiting Petal 48-29 in the first round of the Class 4A South State playoffs Friday night at Dobie Holden Stadium.
Peters scored four rushing touchdowns and also returned a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown.
Poplarville quarterback matt Williams, who along with Peters rushed for over 100 yards, also added a short scoring run for the winners as did Justin Raine.
The game was tied 21-21 in the second quarter before Poplarville exploded for 27 straight points to seasl the win.
Poplarville will tavel to terry for the second round of the playoffs Friday.
