Memorial services are at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, for James Luther Chester, Jr., 82, of Picayune, who died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006.

The Rev. James L. Gray officiates at the service. Burial is at a later date in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home of Pearl River, La.

He was a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include a son, James Luther Chester III of Slidell, La.; four daughters, Pamela Sue Chester Phillips of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Sylvia Chester Parker of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Frankie Ella Edwina Chester Luther and Thressa Jane Guchereau, both Picayune; a brother, Herman Chester; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Ray Chester.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Jena Serigne Kidney Transplant Fund.
