A school bus carrying Byram Middle School students crashed Tuesday, injuring some students, officials said.

Judy McFarland, a dispatcher for the Clinton Police Department, said there were several injuries, but she did not say how many.

There were 14 children on the bus coming from Byram Middle School, officials said.

The students were taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, but the injuries did not appear to be serious, officials said.

Capt. Steve Pickett, spokesman for the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department, said the bus was struck by another vehicle.
