Fred K. Watkins

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel for Fred K. Watkins, 80, of Carriere, who died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006.

The Rev. William Gary Smith officiates at the service, assisted by the Rev. Wesley Joe Quave. Burial is in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Tupelo, he was a tug boat captain and a member of 1st Baptist Church of Carriere.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy B. Watkins of Carriere; two sons, Fred K. Watkins, Jr. of Carriere and Timothy Watkins of Derby; seven daughters, Claudia Watkins of New Orleans, Becky Watkins, Regina Mitchell and Teresa Smith, all of Carriere, Lourie Barnett of Picayune, Fran Watkins of Pensacola, Fla., and Rhoda Gouin of Tallahassee, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Scott Watkins.

Visitation is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the funeral home.
