Come one, come all to the Kick-Off Extravaganza of the 2007 Poplarville Relay for Life at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 at the Pearl River County Nursing Home in Poplarville.

Anyone interested in participating in or helping to organize the event are invited to attend, and we’ll even feed you a meal. All businesses, organizations, schools or individuals who are sponsoring a Team or serving as a Sponsor, or who would like to find out more about organizing a Team or Sponsorship are encouraged to attend this Kick-Off Event.

Relay For Life is a fun-filled evening designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of the American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.

The 2007 Poplarville Relay for Life is scheduled for April 27 at the Pearl River Community College Football Field. This year’s fundraising goal is $29,000.
