Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for Lyda Marie Smith Hunter, 54, of Columbia, Md., who died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.

The Rev. Father Michael Snyder officiates at the service. Burial is in Steep Hollow Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Picayune, she was a teacher and a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church at Oakland Mills in Columbia.

Survivors include her husband, Jay Hunter of Columbia; a daughter, Victoria Hunter of Columbia; her mother, Nelda Seal Smith of Slidell, La.; two sisters, Brenda Baron of Gulfport and Melinda Hilton of Pearland, Texas, and a brother, Delous Smith of Destrehan, La.
