Local residents win Reserve AQHA Regional Experience Championship titles

The Region NINE Experience, sponsored by the Reserve American Quarter Horse Association, was held Aug 17-20 in Jackson. Results are as follows.
Dewayne Lambert of Poplarville, claimed a Regional Experience Championship title in Amateur Dally Team Roping-Heeling with Cajuns GI Jane, an American Quarter Horse, and claimed a Regional Experience Championship title in Amateur Tie-down Roping with TD Dusters Tuffy, an American Quarter Horse.
Collins Barnes of Poplarville, placed third in Youth Tiedown Roping with Sir Class, an American Quarter Horse, and claimed a Regional Experience Championship title in Youth Dally Team Roping-Heeling with TD Dusters Tuffy, an American Quarter Horse.. He also claimed a third-place title in Youth Dally Team Roping-Heeling with Sir Class.
Ivy White of Carriere, claimed a Reserve American Quarter Horse Association Regional Experience Championship title in Novice Youth Western Pleasure with Precious Asset, an American Quarter Horse.
Created to encourage participation from exhibitors at all levels of ability in an event branded to the American Quarter Horse lifestyle, Regional Experiences blend competition, education and trade show commerce, as well as free test rides, to introduce more people to AQHA and invite previous exhibitors back to the Association.
Each of the 10 North American regions hosts a Regional Experience. In addition to competition, each Experience includes educational programs, such as clinics, American Quarter Horse Test Rides, judging session, plus nutritional and health seminars. Also, a trade show with vendors offering unique goods and services for all horse lovers will be held during the Regional Experiences.
AQHA Corporate Partners Farnam, Ford, Fort Dodge Animal Health, John Deere and The American Quarter Horse Journal are presenting sponsors of the Regional Experiences. Joint sponsors are Nutrena, Exiss Trailers, WeatherBeeta, Montana Silversmiths, Tex Tan and Markel Insurance.
Exhibitors competing in the show portion of the Experience receive awards based on their placing. In each region, a custom-designed Montana Silversmiths buckle is awarded for first; a WeatherBeeta “Rug Sac” containing three unique blankets for second; third-place finishers receive a pair of Justin Boots; and Professional’s Choice Accessories for fourth. The American Quarter Horse Journal award a grooming bag to fifth-place. Tex Tan saddles, sponsored by Markel Insurance, are awarded to novice youth, youth, novice amateur and amateur all-around high point winners at each Experience.
