Joel Iven ‘Whiskyman’ Norton

Graveside services are at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Persimmon Hill Baptist Church Cemetery for Joel Iven “Whiskyman” Norton, 59, of Perkinston, who died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at Mobile (Ala.) Cemetery.
Bro. Jimmy Beech officiates at the service. Burial is in Persimmon Hill Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of White Funeral Home.
A native of Gulfport, he was a truck driver, a U.S. Navy veteran and attended Persimmon Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Lola Warden Norton of Gulfport; his wife, June Norton of Perkinston; four sons, Anthony Norton of Gulfport, Brian Norton of Winnfield, La., Billy Young and Tyrel Young, both of Perkinston; three daughters, Jane “Fea” Fayard of Woolmarket, Tammy Smith of Wiggins and Trina Lilly of Ocean Springs; three brothers, James Norton of Gulfport, Dale Norton of Perkinston and Mike Norton of Mobile, and 13 grandchildren.
