Hooper LaVigne

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at the White Chapel Church of God for Hooper LaVigne, 63, of Carriere, who died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006.

The Rev. Rayburn Deese officiates at the service. Burial is in Gipson Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Picayune, he was a former Picayune police chief, a quality control man for NASA and a member of White Chapel Church of God.

Survivors include a son, Hooper Dwayne LaVigne of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Joan Marrero of Mobile, Ala.; two stepsons, Wayne Johnson and Jody Johnson, both of Poplarville; three brothers, Willie LaVigne, John LaVigne and Steven LaVigne, all of Carriere; five sisters, Glenda Alligood, Linda Pitre and Addie Mae LaVigne, all of Carriere, Alice Delaney and Myrtle Faye Bradshaw, both of Alabama, and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Hannah LaVigne.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the funeral home.
